LOCAL CALCULATION / KG PER COLLECTION INTERVAL
Close the streams
before comparing yield.
Use masses taken over the same interval, with unchanged vessel inventory. Enter measured additions and removals; exclude wash water that never enters the weighed process feed.
Total input = named feed + added water
Unaccounted = total input − pulp − residue − other removal
Stream recovery = pulp ÷ total input × 100
READ THE BASIS
A recovery figure belongs to a boundary.
Incoming fruit includes sorting rejects; prepared fruit at the pulper inlet does not. A percentage from one boundary cannot be compared directly with a percentage from the other. Weigh the same lot and name the product outlet, screen, interval and inventory condition.
Added water changes recovered stream mass. When water enters the collection boundary, this tool reports recovered stream against total measured input and leaves fruit-only yield unresolved. Fruit-derived solids need their own composition measurements.
Unaccounted mass can include unmeasured hold-up, spill, evaporation or weighing differences. Investigate the closure before treating the value as fruit loss. If vessel inventory changes, record the opening and closing inventory separately and reconcile it before using this simple steady-interval tool.
