START AT RECEIVING
Buy the downstream duty your supplied pulp needs.
Prepared pulp already has an extraction history. Begin with its lot, package, receiving condition and product specification. A second whole-fruit preparation section adds no useful duty unless the supplied material requires a defined new separation step.
| Receiving question | Equipment consequence | Record for the handover |
|---|---|---|
| Frozen, chilled or other supplied state? | Unloading and any selected thawing / receiving arrangement | Package, incoming temperature and upstream preservation record. |
| Pumpable at what conditions? | Selected transfer, piping and useful buffer volume | Viscosity with temperature and method; fibres, particles and inlet pressure. |
| What preservation and package endpoint? | Product-specific heating, holding and cooling linked to filler | Required treatment process, flow, fill condition, bag and fitment. |
| How is production interrupted? | Buffer levels, controlled circulation and stop/start interfaces | Batch receiving pattern, filling interruptions and product recovery route. |
| How does the circuit clean? | CIP supply/return plus accessible connections | Cleaning boundary, drains, utility quality and verification responsibility. |
ACCEPTANCE AT THE CONNECTION
Keep treatment and filling on the same product basis.
Specify the accepted pulp state at the treatment inlet and the intended handover at the filler. Heating, pressure loss and pumping depend on the actual pulp, while the package and fitment define the filling interface.
Agree the measured flow boundary, instruments, interruption response, utilities and product sampling in the offer. A bulk bag line and a retail bottle line have different packaging duties.
SUPPLY BOUNDARY / OFFER WORKSHEET
Give every handover an owner.
This is a scope worksheet for a project discussion. Use the agreed offer to assign supply, installation and acceptance at each boundary.
| Boundary | Equipment discussion | Interface to agree |
|---|---|---|
| Receiving → preparation | Whole-fruit washing and inspection, or supplied-pulp receiving | Customer feed state; unloading; upstream product acceptance. |
| Pulping → product buffer | Combined pulper/refiner, residue collection and transfer | Sample access; rejected stream handling; connected flow basis. |
| Buffer / blending → treatment | Working volume, recipe additions, selected pump and thermal circuit | Utilities; product properties; controlled flow and interruption response. |
| Treatment → bulk filling | Selected bag and fitment, product handover and container movement | Package supply; treatment/filler acceptance; retail packing if required separately. |
| Cleaning / controls / site work | CIP circuits and direct-access cleaning; control interfaces | Building drains, services, guarding, installation, commissioning and document responsibilities. |
