RECIPE → PROCESS DUTY
Account for additions before sizing the line.
A formulated beverage base starts with an accepted pulp lot, then adds named water and ingredients. Define every addition in kilograms per batch before converting to litres or an hourly flow. Density belongs to the actual product and temperature.
Nominal pulp fraction = pulp ingredient mass ÷ total ingredient input mass × 100. This is an ingredient mass fraction, not fruit solids, single-strength fruit content or a finished-label claim. Those need pulp concentration and product rules.
| Task | Configuration question | Acceptance record |
|---|---|---|
| Receive pulp and ingredients | Which lot, concentration, addition order and batch mass? | Pulp specification, ingredient weighing and batch identity. |
| Mix the recipe | What agitation / dispersion duty and powder wetting are needed? | Uniformity method, sample positions and mixing sequence. |
| Consider homogenization | Is the feed pumpable with controlled hard particles? | Feed particle condition, viscosity / temperature and selected pressure duty. |
| Bridge batch to continuous treatment | Which batch cycle and useful buffer volume support the outlet? | Batch duration, controlled product flow and interruption plan. |
| Treat and package | What finished base and package leave the scope? | Product-specific treatment and filling handover; common lot traceability. |

SCREENING BEFORE BLENDING
Do not hide a hard-particle problem in the recipe.
Dilution changes product body and measured flow. It does not establish acceptable seed fragments or remove an unwanted coarse stream. Release the pulp against its own seed and texture criteria before using it in the batch.
Optional homogenization is selected for a compatible feed; it is not a substitute for upstream seed separation. Carry the pulp lot, batch recipe and treatment run into the filling record.
