EQUIPMENT SELECTION GUIDE

Choosing Screens for Guava Pulp and Puree

Choose guava pulper screens using hard-particle acceptance, fibre texture, recovered pulp, flow and cleaning observations rather than aperture alone.

01

An aperture is one operating variable

Screen opening influences passage through the working stage alongside rotor action, clearance, preparation and fruit condition. The published pulper family range is not a universal guava setting. Establish a starting configuration with the intended product criteria.

02

Measure product and residue together

Use the same lot and named measurement boundaries when comparing screens. Record recovered pulp, retained material, seed condition and interruptions. A higher recovered mass may be unsuitable if the product does not meet the hard-particle or fibre requirement.

03

Do not equate aperture with particle guarantee

Screen opening is not a guarantee of the maximum particle or hard-fragment size in the finished product. Use the agreed assessment method on representative samples. Screen condition and a change in operating behaviour also belong in the record.

04

Keep the settings useful for the equipment enquiry

Share the product goal and available observations before asking for an aperture recommendation. The optional trial worksheet records screen, fibre, seed and flow conditions together, with unmeasured items left blank.
