Buffer a real operating difference
The tank receives variation in extraction or incoming pulp supply while the next module requires steadier flow. Useful buffer volume is the portion between the operating limits, not simply the total vessel capacity. Account for any recipe additions and material retained during a changeover.
Move viscous pulp with a defined duty
Temperature, fibre and measurement method matter when specifying the transfer pump. Include pipe length, fittings, elevation and the next machine inlet conditions. Specify the pump type, wetted assembly and seal configuration for that operating duty.
Arrange the connections for emptying
Locate outlets and product routing so the tank and connected pipework can drain as intended. Include access for inspection, level sensing and the cleaning return. Keep hold-up in valves and pipe low points visible in the layout review.
Holding and hygiene
Define product holding limits with the process, and avoid using buffer capacity to conceal an undersized downstream machine. Cleaning access and any agitation are selected features. Inspect outlets and seals at planned intervals and verify cleaning on the installed circuit.
